Israel joins international trademark cooperation

On 1 September this year Israel officially accedes to what is commonly known as the Madrid System, the international trademark cooperation system that is administered by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO). Israel is the 85th nation to sign up to the system.

By filing just one single application under the Madrid System, it is possible to protect a trademark in as many of the 85 contracting countries as required.
